On September 11, 2004, in Lewiston, Maine, 24-year-old Shawn M. Fitzsimmons was fatally shot by 19-year-old Brandon Knight. The incident occurred inside an apartment where Knight was handling a handgun. Subsequently, in October, Knight was indicted for manslaughter.
