On April 16, 2021, 31-year-old Joshua Costa was fatally shot at an auto repair shop on Harris Avenue in Providence, Rhode Island. The incident occurred during a dispute between Costa and 44-year-old Phillip Manners. According to prosecutors, Costa brandished a firearm and took a bag from Manners, believed to contain narcotics, before attempting to flee.
