On May 9, 2015, 40-year-old Kareem Barnes was found shot to death in a common hallway of an apartment building at 149 Camden Avenue in Providence, Rhode Island. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m., and responding officers discovered Barnes with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. This marked the city's third homicide of the year.
