On the evening of New Year's Day in 2018, tragedy struck in Providence, Rhode Island, forever altering the lives of a local family. Christian Pena, a 23-year-old Hispanic man, was inside a residence when the sound of gunfire shattered the night. Multiple shots were fired at the building, and at least one found its mark, striking Christian in the chest. Despite the desperate efforts of his friends, who rushed him to a nearby hospital, his injuries proved to be fatal.
