On August 7, 2021, 29-year-old Kerwins Esmelin Pimental of Mattapan, Massachusetts, was fatally shot outside Fuego Lounge, a nightclub located on West Friendship Street in Providence, Rhode Island. Pimental was among a group of ten friends celebrating a birthday at the venue when an altercation erupted with another group.
