On the evening of December 5, 2015, a tragedy unfolded in Birmingham, Alabama, that cut short the life of 56-year-old James Morgan Jr. Morgan was walking with a friend when he was fatally shot, a sudden and violent end to an otherwise ordinary day. The incident prompted an investigation by the Birmingham Police Department, who soon identified a suspect in connection with the homicide.
