Keith G. Stone Jr., a lifelong resident of Danville, was known for his passion for music and football.
He played youth football for the Tilton Panthers and continued his involvement in the sport through high school and semi-professional leagues. Stone graduated from Danville High School in 2010 and later worked at Flex-N-Gate in Covington, Indiana. He was also actively involved in community youth programs, including assisting with the Danville Chargers.
Following the shooting, the Danville Police Department, in collaboration with the Illinois State Police, conducted a thorough investigation, processing the crime scene and collecting evidence. Autopsies for Stone and the juvenile victim were pending at the time of reporting, with results expected to provide further insights into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
