In the early morning hours of October 26, 2019, a dispute between two men with a troubled history culminated in the death of 37-year-old Benjamin Donahue III in downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Donahue, a Black / African American male, was fatally shot following a confrontation in a parking lot near the intersection of West 10th Street and South Main Avenue. The incident unfolded around 1:00 AM after Donahue and the suspect had a brief exchange.
