On April 22, 2016, 27-year-old Baptiste Paul White Eyes was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Lucky Lady Casino in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The incident occurred following an altercation with 21-year-old Jared Stone. After the shooting, Stone fled the scene, prompting a multi-state manhunt. He was apprehended five days later near the Wyoming state line after a high-speed chase that began in Nebraska.
