On August 12, 2018, 25-year-old Moses James Cole was fatally shot during an altercation at Falls Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The incident occurred shortly after Cole arrived at a barbecue, where an ongoing dispute escalated into violence. Another individual, 22-year-old Bwengbugal Matembara, was also shot during the confrontation and remained in the intensive care unit following the incident.
