On a Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2024, a large gathering at Dunham Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, turned tragic, ending the life of 29-year-old Joshau Antrell Allen Jr., a Black / African American male. The incident unfolded around 4:21 p.m. when multiple calls reported gunfire in the park located in the 1300 block of South Marion Road. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Allen in a parking lot on the west end of the park, deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
