In the late summer of 2024, the life of 13-year-old Xavier Jayceon White Whirlwind was tragically cut short in Rapid City, South Dakota. A member of the Oglala Lakota Nation, Xavier was a young boy with a life ahead of him. On September 2, 2024, he was found with a serious gunshot wound at a residence on East Fairlane Drive. Emergency services responded, and he was rushed to Monument Health Hospital for treatment.
