On a late Saturday morning, May 17, 2025, the life of 33-year-old Dakota Britthouer, a White/Caucasian male, was tragically cut short in a violent encounter in Rapid City, South Dakota. The incident unfolded around 11:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of Wood Avenue on the city's north side. First responders arrived at the scene to find Britthouer suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
