In the late summer of 2019, the community of Rapid City, South Dakota, was shaken by the unexpected death of David Butler, a 59-year-old White male. On the morning of September 3rd, his body was discovered near a path in the serene surroundings of Canyon Lake Park. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the chest, and a handgun was found in close proximity to his body.
