Officer A. Claud Snider, a 25-year-old member of the Tuscaloosa Police Department in Alabama, lost his life in the line of duty on Friday, September 30, 1932. The incident occurred after Snider and his partner, Officer Garland Tanner, had finished working security at a Friday night football game. They responded to a call at the University of Alabama, where a female student reported that a man was holding her boyfriend at gunpoint and demanding money.
