Detective Joseph A. Picciano, aged 33, tragically lost his life on February 15, 1971, in the Bronx, New York. On that fateful day, at approximately 4:40 a.m., Detective Picciano was in the second-floor squad room of the 41st Precinct, located at 1086 Simpson Street. He was in the process of fingerprinting a suspect named Antonio Allemano, who had been arrested for attempting to abduct a 13-year-old boy.
