Without warning, a gunman ran up behind him and shot him multiple times in the back at the intersection of East 156th Street and Westchester Avenue.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and transported the gravely wounded teenager to Lincoln Hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced deceased.
