On March 15, 2021, 33-year-old Sean Michael Barrett was fatally shot in the parking lot of Dixie Pulp and Paper in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. during a shift change at the facility. Surveillance footage revealed that 27-year-old Demorius Mondreal Polke, a fellow employee, approached Barrett and shot him multiple times before turning the gun on himself, resulting in a murder-suicide.
