In the winter of 2023, a dispute in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, tragically cut short the life of 37-year-old Terrence Knott Jr. On Saturday, January 14th, police were dispatched to the Sun Valley Apartments on 36th Avenue around noon following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Knott, a male, deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds.
Investigators from the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit worked throughout the day, processing the scene for evidence and interviewing
witnesses to piece together the events that led to the fatal encounter. It was determined that earlier in the day, Knott had been involved in a domestic altercation with a woman. This initial dispute is believed to be the catalyst for the deadly shooting that followed.
Following the altercation, Knott was confronted by 28-year-old Dondre Joseph. The confrontation escalated, resulting in the shooting death of Knott. Based on their investigation, authorities identified Joseph as the suspect.
Later that same day, Dondre Joseph was arrested and charged with one count of murder. He was subsequently booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he was held without bond pending a court evaluation. The case was then set to move through the criminal justice system.
