Kerry Jamar Whitmore was a 20-year-old male from Birmingham, Alabama, who died on August 5, 2008, after a shooting that turned a routine summer day into a scene of panic and flashing blue lights. The gunfire erupted at Springville Landing Apartments, a complex along Huffman Road near Springville Road, in the eastern side of the city. When officers arrived, they found Whitmore wounded in the parking lot, and the violence that took his life was treated immediately as more than an unexplained trage ...
