Joshua Gardner, a 24-year-old man from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was fatally shot on January 9, 2014, in what authorities later determined to be a targeted homicide. Gardner's death occurred in the early evening hours when he was found with gunshot wounds outside of an apartment complex in Tuscaloosa. Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but despite their efforts to provide medical aid, Gardner was pronounced dead shortly after the shooting.
