On March 13, 2022, two-year-old Ashton Jones was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on 19th Street, where a white vehicle drove by a residence near a park and opened fire with a rifle. Ashton, who was standing in the front yard, was struck by the gunfire and succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. A 25-year-old man, Marcus Winston Jr., was also killed in the shooting; he and Ashton were not related.
