Brenton Tarell Samuels, 31, a Black man from Charlotte, North Carolina, died in the early morning hours of September 27, 2025. Just after 2 a.m., officers were called to the 8800 block of Hollow Creek Circle in the University City area, at an apartment community off Mallard Creek Road. When police arrived, they found Brenton Tarell Samuels, 31, with gunshot wounds; MEDIC pronounced him dead at the scene.
