Jonathan Dominique Cauthen, a 31-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on September 28, 2017, in west Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 3 a.m., and Cauthen was found fatally shot at the scene. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department quickly identified the case as a homicide and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
