On May 5, 2024, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 30-year-old Donavin Ryans was fatally shot during a gathering at a residence on the 1300 block of 58th Street East. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. when the suspect, 22-year-old Gredrick Agnew, was asked to leave the event. Agnew allegedly responded by firing into the residence through an open door, striking Ryans and injuring three others. The injuries sustained by the other victims were reported as non-life-threatening.
