On the evening of December 6, 2022, a 22-year-old African American male, Larry Maddix Jr., was fatally shot at the Hodo Haven Apartments located in the 600 block of 33rd Street East in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Officers from the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to reports of a shooting just after 6:00 p.m. and discovered Maddix deceased at the scene. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit took over the investigation, marking Maddix's death as the 20th homicide in Tuscaloosa County for that year. ...Read More
