On June 29, 2024, at approximately 3:14 a.m., 51-year-old Reggie Coverson was fatally shot in the 2000 block of Stardust Drive in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. Deputies from the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting and discovered two men with gunshot wounds. A 23-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was expected to recover. Coverson was pronounced dead at the scene.
