On a Sunday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the sound of gunfire erupted in the 3000 block of 19th Street, shattering the day's calm. It was March 13, 2022, when a white four-door vehicle carrying several individuals drove past a residence and those inside opened fire into the front yard with long guns. The hail of bullets struck 25-year-old Marcus Winston Jr. and a 2-year-old boy, Ashton Jones, who were both outside the home. Winston, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries ...
