On December 20, 2023, 24-year-old Tristan Decedric Clark of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was fatally shot by police during a traffic stop near Bowers Park. Narcotics officers initiated the stop around noon, during which they identified Clark, a backseat passenger, as having an outstanding warrant.
