On June 15, 2014, in Birmingham, Alabama, 53-year-old Arthur Mills was fatally shot while attempting to intervene in a robbery. The incident occurred around 5:10 p.m. on the 1800 block of 3rd Place Southwest. Mills' neighbor, Juliette Lockett, was confronted by suspects who forcibly took a ring from her finger and stole her 2009 silver Cadillac CTS.
