On the evening of May 16, 2019, 20-year-old Sanquez Derico Recarlos Morgan was fatally shot near the intersection of 41st Street and Fifth Court North in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding to reports of gunfire around 10:30 p.m., Birmingham police officers arrived at the scene and found Morgan suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m.
