Death by Force

On the morning of July 16, 2022, Larry Taylor, a 47-year-old Birmingham resident, was fatally shot outside the Keeton Correctional Facility on 7th Street North. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. as Taylor exited the facility to head to work. He was approached by an individual in the parking lot, who opened fire, striking him multiple times. Taylor was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital by a private vehicle but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
