On January 27, 2020, at approximately 9:26 p.m., Birmingham police responded to a shooting at 621 Goldwire Place Southwest. Upon arrival, officers discovered 23-year-old James Rashad Brown lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m. on January 28, 2020.
