In the late hours of December 23, 2023, a violent chain of events unfolded in a Birmingham, Alabama, neighborhood that ended the life of 43-year-old David Wayne Nicholas, a white male. The night's tranquility was shattered when Nicholas was brutally assaulted at a residence in the 1400 block of Lake Lane Northeast.
