Death by Force

On July 5, 2021, 27-year-old Jason Matthew Kirkland was found unresponsive in his cell at William Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, Alabama. Prison staff discovered him around 4:45 p.m., and he was pronounced dead less than twenty minutes later. An autopsy performed the following day revealed that Kirkland died from accidental mechanical asphyxia.
