On October 5, 2019, 35-year-old Steven Davis died following an incident at the William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, Alabama. According to the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), on October 4, Davis allegedly charged out of his cell wielding two prison-made weapons and attempted to strike a correctional officer.
