On a summer evening in 2016, a dispute that began in Brighton, Alabama, tragically escalated, culminating in the death of 22-year-old Brett Allen Kimbrel of Bessemer. On June 5, 2016, Kimbrel was a passenger in a black Ford Mustang traveling on Interstate 20/59 near mile marker 113. The driver of the Mustang, Abby Hyman, was also in the vehicle.
