On December 13, 2024, 27-year-old D’Angelo Le’Marcus Samuel, known professionally as the rapper "Landlord Lo," was fatally shot outside the Brighton Community Center in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2:18 p.m. during a funeral repast for Samuel's uncle, Fredrick Lee Samuel. Another individual, 38-year-old Roderick Hall, was also killed in the shooting.
