On February 3, 2024, 19-year-old Kirby Lashon Tate Jr. was fatally shot in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 12:48 p.m. in the 300 block of Norwood Avenue, a residential area near Carver Park. Upon arrival, officers discovered Tate outside a home, where he was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:14 p.m.
