On May 8, 2022, at approximately 6 a.m., 39-year-old Kenneth Rechard Clark of Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot while seated in a vehicle near the 2800 block of Dartmouth Avenue in Bessemer. The incident reportedly stemmed from an argument that escalated into violence. A teenage girl present at the scene also sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
