On March 16, 2021, 19-year-old Saveon Th'Marcus Washington was fatally shot in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. in the 1800 block of Long 14th Street North. Officers from the Bessemer Police Department responded to reports of a man lying in the roadway and discovered Washington deceased at the scene. Witnesses indicated that he was shot while walking down the street.
