On April 17, 2021, 46-year-old Sean Patrick Coker was found deceased in his room at the Quality Inn hotel on Academy Lane in Bessemer, Alabama. Hotel staff discovered his body around 10:30 a.m., and the Jefferson County Coroner's Office determined that Coker had died from blunt force trauma. Coker, a truck driver and Marine veteran from Augusta, Georgia, was remembered by his family for his dedication and service.
