On September 9, 2021, 58-year-old Patrick Todd Jackson was fatally struck by a vehicle while working as part of a road crew on Interstate 59/20 in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near mile marker 11 in the northbound lanes. Jackson, a resident of Sterrett, was employed by a company repaving a section of the interstate.
