Sylvernia Edwards, a 25-year-old woman from Texas City, Texas, tragically lost her life on April 24, 2020, in Houston, Texas. She was one of three victims found shot to death in a southeast Houston apartment after an apparent robbery. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, and a fourth victim, a man, was found in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
Tyler Pringle, a 23-year-old man, was charged with capital murder in connection with the deaths of Sylvernia Edwards
and another victim, Kevin Kelly. Police believe that Pringle, along with an unidentified second suspect, entered the apartment with the intent to rob the occupants, possibly over narcotics. The investigation revealed drug paraphernalia inside the apartment, supporting the theory that the killings were part of a robbery.
Pringle was already out on bond for a previous strangulation charge when he was arrested for the murders. He was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in June 2019, allegedly kicking her in the head and choking her while she was waiting for her car at a mechanic shop. The second suspect involved in the robbery has yet to be identified, and the identity of the third victim has not been released.
