In the early morning hours of November 11, 2020, tragedy struck in Bessemer, Alabama, when 59-year-old Danny Ray Jones was fatally shot. The incident, which occurred during an assault, cut short the life of the Bessemer man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation culminated in the arrests of two men, Jonathan “Chase” Mason, a 27-year-old from the nearby community of McCalla, and 39-year-old Timothy Steven Bradford. In a later development, the murder charge against the second suspect, Timothy Steven Bradford, was dismissed.
