On October 12, 2019, 25-year-old Christon Anthony Lewis was fatally shot in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred near the intersection of 28th Street and 11th Avenue, where Lewis was found with a gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Following the shooting, the Bessemer Police Department identified 20-year-old Kalan Phillips as a suspect. A murder warrant was issued for Phillips, and authorities sought public assistance in locating him. O
