On May 15, 2024, at approximately 6 a.m., 59-year-old William "Barry" Brannan was found deceased in his white Ford Flex, which was stopped in the middle of Alabama Adventure Parkway near the I-20/59 exit ramp in Bessemer, Alabama. An officer on patrol discovered Brannan inside the vehicle, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
