On December 9, 2021, at approximately 4:30 a.m., 41-year-old Leremus Karzell Oden was fatally shot during a domestic altercation at his residence in the 500 block of 12th Street North in Bessemer, Alabama. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirmed that Oden died at the scene from a gunshot wound sustained in the incident. The Bessemer Police Department initiated a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
