On March 26, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., 25-year-old Demetrius Antwan Davis Jr. was fatally shot while pumping gas at the Circle K station located at 1700 Tallapoosa Street in Birmingham, Alabama. An unknown assailant approached Davis and opened fire; Davis returned fire before collapsing.
