In the late summer of 2021, the life of Tyrese Jamal Vault, a 27-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short on the streets of Birmingham, Alabama. On the evening of Monday, September 13th, violence erupted in the city's Southside, resulting in a double shooting. When the chaos subsided, Tyrese Jamal Vault was found to be one of the victims, having sustained fatal injuries.
